We specialize in panel upgrades. If your home was built in the 50's the breakers or fuses in your electric panel might not be as reliable as the breakers manufactured today.
Other things to consider are that as the National Electrical Code changes over the years requirements for GFCI and AFCI protection are not available in older models of electric panels. And if replacement breakers or extra breakers are needed the replacement breakers, if they can be found can cost anywhere from $50 to $100.The cost of material for replacing 2-3 breakers can cost more than a new panel with all the required breakers. So for the cost of the labor to in stall a new panel you can have a new electric panel with code compliant breakers that are more reliable and easier to find.
